The Big V community came together on Saturday to commemorate a brilliant 2025 season and celebrate the achievements of both clubs and players. Athletes were recognised for their outstanding efforts and on-court production for the season at the Timberyard for the annual awards night. Clubs from across the state came together in a wonderful night of sharing, reflecting and festivities. So many clubs were well-represented on the night, and each celebrated each other to look back on a tremendous year of hoops in 2025.
Some associations had multiple tables and received multiple awards – adding to the atmosphere and deserved recognition for so much hard work across the season. Volunteers and club members outside of playing groups and coaching staff were also among the honouring as without them, the competitions wouldn’t be the same.
Fierce on-court rivals congratulated each other on achievements throughout the evening, creating a friendly and respectful vibe. Players from opposing associations bonded as peers rather than competitors to show that basketball brings everyone together.
The night commenced with statistical awards before moving into club recognition awards, followed by various individual awards before concluding with MVPs and All Star Fives. Both Youth League and Senior divisions were announced on the night, allowing for all levels of the basketball and Big V community to recognise each other.
A big congratulations to all winners and their associations on a successful campaign, with plenty to reflect on, yet plenty to look forward to in 2026.
