Hoops is for everyone! A number of associations across Victoria offer 'hoops for wheelies!' (wheelchair basketball) with participation opportunities, competitions and events for fun and health benfits or that integrate into pathways that engage and develop players, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers across the sport. Opportunities are available for all people to engage with this part of our sport particularly those with:

PathwayState Development Program The State Development Program (SDP) is to ensure that the next generation of wheelchair basketball players who have the ability and attitude to excel in an elite environment are identified, developed and nurtured. Open to male and female athletes across Victoria the program aims to support our elite players and coaches to successfully perform at state, national and international level. Delivered through a series of camps held in both Regional and Metropolitan Victoria nominations for the program are open to athletes on an ongoing basis. |

State Team: Kevin Coombs CupThe Kevin Coombs Cup is the Australian Junior Championship for wheelchair basketball. State teams representing Basketball Victoria are selected to compete at the annual National Junior Championships. These championships present the only opportunity for junior wheelchair basketballers to represent their state in a National Championship. The age groups for the Kevin Coombs Cup are based on international junior wheelchair basketball age groups; Under-23 for Males and Under-25 for Females |
