PlaySafe
PlayHQ is introducing PlaySafe, an automated child safeguarding solution developed in partnership with Oho. This feature provides real-time Working with Children Check (WWCC) verification and ongoing monitoring for coaches, team managers, and other participants in positions of trust - significantly enhancing child safety across all sports whilst reducing manual compliance administration.
What Does PlaySafe Do?
✔️ Automates WWCC collection during PlayHQ registration
✔️ Verifies details in real-time against government databases
✔️ Sends instant alerts to Integrity teams for any revocations or expiries
✔️ Gives clubs and associations full visibility of compliance in the admin portal
✔️ Supports safer sport for every participant
Why It Matters
Many associations and clubs currently rely on volunteers to manually collect and monitor WWCCs - creating risks, compliance gaps, and stress. With PlaySafe, those checks happen behind the scenes, so your people can focus on coaching, playing, and growing the game.
Registration Process
- WWCC Entry: Participants in positions of trust (coaches, team managers) provide WWCC details during registration
- Soft Validation: "Check" functionality validates format and expiry date before submission
- OHO Integration: PlayHQ automatically validates details against government databases through OHO
- Status Update: Child Safety status updated based on validation results
- Ongoing Monitoring: Participant included in regular batch checks for status changes
