Victoria, Melbourne – Each year, Basketball Victoria hosts the Southern Cross Challenge (SSC), a tournament open to Under 14 and Under 15 boys and girls from teams across Australia.
The 2026 tournament will be held across four days, in Melbourne, from 16 - 19 January at the State Basketball Centre.
The focus of the tournament is development, giving athletes, coaches and referees the opportunity to grow in a highly competitive atmosphere. SCC has proven to be a tournament where elite athletes have started their journey, before moving on to national representation. A highlight of the tournament each year is the way coaches, athletes, referees and supporters embrace the opportunity it provides, with everyone involved demonstrating a commitment to playing the game in the right spirit.
