Melbourne, VICTORIA - From junior state titiles to senio championships, Victoria's biggest basketball season is entering its most exciting chapter.
Over the next six weeks, Basketball Victoria will deliver more than 20 championship events across the Big V, NBL1 South, Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), Schools and 3x3 competitions, with titles, trophies and season honours to be decided at venues throughout metropolitan and regional Victoria.
From hometown rivaliries and championship deciders to award celebrations and the next generation of stars taking centre stage, thousands of players, coaches, officials, volunteers and supporters will come together as the state's best chase championship glory.
As basketball continues to grow across Victoria, the Finals Frenzy showcases the incredible depth of the game, from school and junior competitions through to the state's premier senior leagues. More than a celebration of championships, it's a celebration of the clubs, associations and communities that continue to make Victorian basketball one of the strongest and most vibrant basketball landscapes in Australia.
The action begins with the Big V Youth League Grand Finals on 8–9 August before the NBL1 South Grand Finals on 15 August. Big V champions will then be crowned across Division One, Division Two and Championship throughout August, before the season is celebrated at the Big V Awards Night at the Pullman Melbourne on 5 September.
Across the same period, the VJBL will crown champions across multiple age groups and divisions, while Basketball Victoria's Champions Cup will showcase the state's leading school teams before the 3x3 Association State Championships bring the finals season to a close in late September.
Basketball Victoria General Manager Leagues & Competitions, Greg Jeffers said the Finals Frenzy highlights the passion and commitment that continues to drive basketball's growth across the state.
"The Finals Frenzy is one of the highlights of our basketball calendar because it showcases the incredible depth of talent across every level of our game," Jeffers said.
"From our youngest athletes chasing their first representative title through to our senior competitions competing for Championships, these events reflect the continued growth of basketball in Victoria and the strength of the communities that support our game.
"To every player, coach, official, volunteer and supporter who has contributed throughout the season, thank you. These events simply wouldn't be possible without your commitment, and we wish everyone the very best as they take to the court over the coming weeks,” said Mr Jeffers.
With championships on the line, unforgettable moments waiting to be made and communities rallying behind their teams, the stage is set for an exciting finish to the 2026 Victorian basketball season.
