Skills In School

This program is a part of the Positive Start initiative by the Victorian State Government.

Schools can access two basketball programs for their students for FREE - and is accessible to all students, including those with a disability.

  • Skills & Fun Clinic provides primary school students (targeted at Years 3 – 6) a fun environment learning associated basketball skills. Schools receive detailed session plans and access to coaching staff to conduct sessions, plus basketball packs to encourage participation post the clinic. These will be delivered at a mutually agreeable time (at the school) during school time

  • The Wheelchair Hoops Program gives secondary school students access to an inclusive basketball clinic, including those with physical disabilities and those without. Clinics include the hire of wheelchairs for the students to use during the session, trained wheelchair basketball coach/staff, delivered at a mutually agreeable time (at the school) during school time.

Program placements are via an 'Expression of Interest' with options for Terms 2, 3 and 4. Our Program Coordinator - Linda Woods will work with schools to best accomodate preference requests within a region.

There are options for individual grade or whole school clinics where appropriate.
