Champions Cup‘Champions Cup’ is Basketball Victoria’s elite school tournament. The tournament is for schools across all sporting associations, meaning the best of the best compete against each other regardless of their affiliation. |
Teams nominated compete to take the undisputed state title in their respective age divisions. For the Senior Division, the Champions Cup is also used as a qualifier for the Australian Schools Championships. Schools can nominate teams to compete in this elite tournament with only the top 16 teams from each age group qualifying for the Preliminary Round. Schools who qualified for the elite 8 in the previous year will be given a spot to compete in the Preliminary Round, remaining Schools will compete in a Qualifying Round to help determine the remaining 8 spots.
The Elite Eight round comprises the top eight teams and a round robin is played to determine the Final Four. The Final Four then play off against each other to qualify for the two spots in the Champions Cup Final. |
