The CBL
The Country Basketball League (CBL) is an open age domestic representative league held across geographical conferences in regional Victoria, usually conducted from October and into the Summer season each year. All regional affiliated associations are invited to enter.

All Basketball Victoria regional affiliated Associations are eligible to nominate to compete in the Country Basketball League. The Country Basketball League may also accept nominations from interstate country Associations. The CBL is usually conducted on a home and away basis with each team playing an equal number of home games and away games. The opening round of matches is generally held on the 2nd weekend of October and this season concludes with a Conference Final usually scheduled in February. Following the weekend of the conference finals the re-introduction of the State (All-Conference) Finals weekend will be occurring with the winning teams of each conference battling it out to be crowned state champions. |

Awards
The CBL rewards a variety of athletes for their outstanding achievements throughout a regular season with numerous awards handed out at the conclusion of the season. |
These include (per conference) a Most Valuable Player, All Star Five and Defensive Player of the Year awards. Players receiving All Star Five and MVP status are considered to be the most respected by their peers and best performers in the season. |
