UPDATE: Friday 20 August – 8.30pm
We have received further updates from the Victorian Government and Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) regarding the urgent need to suspend all community sporting events as of Friday 20 August for the upcoming weekend.
All Regional Under-12 Skills Days accordingly will be postponed until further notice. We apologise for the short notice for the delivery of this information, but this is a quickly developing situation and we have just received advice from Government as of late this evening.
We will make every attempt to reschedule the Regional Under-12 Skills Days. If we are unable to find a suitable date, we will issue refund information to all affected families as soon as possible.
We can appreciate how frustrating it is to have to cancel this event on short notice and we would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this difficult time period.

Due to the emergence of COVID-19 cases throughout Shepparton on Thursday and Friday, Basketball Victoria has taken the necessary step of postponing this weekend’s Wangaratta Under-12 Skills Days.
Several Shepparton-based athletes, coaches and family members were set to attend this weekend’s Skills Days in the North East region and postponing the event will help to lessen the risk to regional Victorian health and safety.
This is not a decision we have come to lightly but given the rapid rise in COVID-19 case numbers throughout Shepparton, we believe it is the only sensible option to avoid contributing to these numbers.
With the exception of the Dromana Under-12 Skills Day event, which has been postponed as previously communicated, at this stage the remaining seven Under-12 Skills Days events will go ahead as scheduled this weekend Saturday-Sunday 21-22 August.
If the Under-12 Skills Days in Wangaratta and Dromana are unable to be rescheduled, Basketball Victoria will liaise with local coaches to determine which top-age athletes should be selected for the Under-12 Talent Identification Camps in Ballarat this September.
Refund information for the Skills Days will be provided directly to affected families if we are unable to reschedule the event.
