Programs in PlayHQ

Programs on PlayHQ is here! On December 2 our Digital Support Team ran a webinar introducing ‘Programs’ on the PlayHQ platform. Clubs and associations can now set up their programs (tryouts, programs and camps as per below) for 2021.

Players must be registered to each program they’re participating in to be covered for Basketball Victoria registration and insurance. To learn more and ensure you use this platform correctly, you can watch the full webinar here.

Basketball Victoria Fees

Basketball Victoria Licence – Participant / Player

(An annual participation licence for anyone wanting to participate in domestic competitions, VJBL, JCBL and/or tournaments).

Cost:

  • $25pp – Junior (17 and under) participant – per 365 days
  • $39pp – Senior participant (18 and over) – per 365 days

At the point of registration to a competition season that requires players to hold a valid BV Licence, players will be charged for a new licence or a 365-day licence extension if they don’t already have a licence that covers them for the entirety of the season they are registering to. Specific details and example situations of the BV Licence are here.

Registration to Basketball Victoria and insurance coverage is determined by registration to each season, program or event, NOT the BV licence alone (which is required / integrated in the registration process for domestic competitions, VJBL, JCBL and tournaments only). Participation in other competitions do not require players to hold a BV Licence; players will be covered for insurance if registered to the competition season.

We would like every coach and team manager to register their details with Basketball Victoria, but it is not compulsory. They will not be required to pay a BV registration fee, however there are significant benefits of having them register (e.g. capturing Working With Children check information).

Participants will be able to see their registration history and manage their own details via their profile in the PlayHQ platform.

Beginners Basketball Programs eg Aussie Hoops (or equivalent)

  • $5 –per term/program or $10 – per season/program

For participants who are learning the game but yet to play an official game.

Note: All program registrations must be in PlayHQ except for Aussie Hoops registrations, which are still via Basketball Australia’s SportsTG platform at this stage, but the fee change has been reduced / implemented. This is a reduction to the current $11 per term being charged to Aussie Hoops participants.

Associations or clubs who run beginner programs need to request for this to be configured in their PlayHQ database at http://support.playhq.com.
