Basketball Victoria is committed to providing an enjoyable, safe and welcoming environment for its members and participants. We have developed a range of policies, procedures, by-laws and codes of conduct that are enforced across the state.
CODES OF CONDUCT
The Codes of Conduct list the expected behaviour in basketball by administrators, coaches, officials, players, parents and spectators.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Terms & Conditions relate to Basketball Victoria participants for users of the “PlayHQ” platform being on-boarded from September 2019.
MEMBERSHIP OBLIGATION BY-LAWS
These by-laws set the procedure for associations to be affiliated with Basketball Victoria and their obligations to Basketball Victoria when they are affiliated (updated 2019).
BV MEMBER PROTECTION BY-LAWS
These by-laws set the obligations for screening persons who work with children and deal with discrimination, harassment and vilification on grounds of gender, race and so on.
BV PARTICIPANTS’ PROTECTION BY-LAWS
These By-laws contain various requirements with respect to pregnancy, first aid equipment and heat policy designed to protect participants.
MEMBER PROTECTION STATUTORY DECLARATION
This is a Statutory Declaration required to be made by all persons in basketball who are required to have a Working with Children Check or who would be if a recognised exemption didn’t apply.

CLIMATE POLICY (Heat Policy)
All persons involved in the organisation of games must be aware of the effect that extremes of weather can have on person playing or attending basketball and put in place adequate contingencies for the minimising of risk to persons, particularly when high temperatures are expected
