Return to Sport Update – 8 September
Outdoor basketball training in Regional Victoria (excluding Greater Shepparton) can return from Thursday 9 September at 11.59pm following today’s announcement from the Victorian Government, on advice from the Department of Health.
REGIONAL VICTORIA (EXCLUDING GREATER SHEPPARTON)
In line with Victorian Government health directives, basketball in Regional Victoria will shift to the ORANGE-20 REACTIVATION LEVEL as per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines.
Only the minimum number of participants and coaches required to host a training session can participate. Spectators are prohibited, except one parent who is permitted to supervise children.
Masks are mandatory to wear for all patrons over 12 years of age at all times unless medically exempt. Players and coaches are exempt while on court participating in an exertive role. All participants and spectators must check in to the outdoor court(s) via QR Code to train outdoors.
Basketball in Greater Shepparton will remain at the remain at the RED-0 REACTIVATION LEVELas per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines.
In line with Victorian Government health directives, basketball in Victoria will remain at the RED-0 REACTIVATION LEVEL as per the Basketball Victoria Return to Sport Guidelines.
We hope to see a similar easing of restrictions within Metropolitan Melbourne as has been introduced for Regional Victoria (excluding Greater Shepparton) over the next couple of weeks in line with the Victorian Government’s staged re-opening plans.
Basketball Victoria is in close communication with the Department of Health and Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) to ensure indoor basketball activities can reactivate as quickly as possible following the end of the current restrictions.
