WE’RE in the home straight heading towards the Medibank National Junior Classic after team fixtures were announced today.
Set to square off in the nation’s peak elite junior tournament, held 10-12 June over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend, the best Australian junior teams in each age group will face sides from around the country in a bid to become a Classic champion team.
Basketball Victoria CEO Nick Honey said it was a thrill to see the Classic return to Melbourne each year.
“Here in Victoria we are priveleged to host such a wonderful tournament, which not only provides the backdrop for some amazing basketabll but also provides long-lasting memories for all involved,” Honey said. “We trust the 2017 participants will look back on their experience both on and off the court with fond memories.
“I would also like to thank our naming rights sonsor, Medibank – this is the second year Medibank have been involved and I thank them for their support and look forward to continuing our great working in growing participation and creating healty outcomes through basketball.”
