Colac Basketball Stalwart Retires After 35 Years of Service
Colac Basketball Association veteran Bev Bauer will step down from her role as Treasurer after serving Colac basketballers for 35 years.
Bev Bauer, who has been Treasurer of Colac Basketball Association since 1983 and a committee member since 1976, has decided to step down following 35 years of loyal service to the Basketball community.
During her time at Colac, Bauer managed Victorian state teams for 14 years collecting six gold medals, and witnessed the development of elite players such as Australian Olympic basketballer Kristi Harrower.
Despite all her accomplishments, Bauer said it was meeting the people of Colac that she enjoyed the most. “I love my basketball and I love meeting people, new kids,” she said. “They come in and say ‘G’day Bev’, and it’s nice they show they appreciate what you do.”
